A standard catalogue model: the dimensions, control package and finish are fixed, which is what keeps the price and the lead time predictable. Size, colour and interface language can be adapted without a new design cycle.
Cochlear implant is an artificial electronic device that replaces damaged cochlear hair cells. After the sound is encoded, the cochlear electrodes directly send electrical pulse stimulation to the nerve fibers inside the cochlea, allowing patients to achieve hearing. It is suitable for severe or extremely severe sensorineural hearing loss. It is currently one of the most effective listening interventions. Cochlear implants are mainly divided into two parts: the internal part is the sound processor, and the internal part is the implant, which requires surgical implantation by a doctor.
The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.
The sound is converted into encoded electrical signals by the processor inside the cochlear implant, and then directly stimulates the auditory nerve through the implanted electrode system. After the nerve impulses are transmitted to the auditory center, hearing-impaired patients can hear the sound. When there is severe hearing loss in both ears or complete hearing loss, wearing hearing aids is ineffective, and it is diagnosed that the diseased tissue is located in the cochlea, patients can choose cochlear implantation.
Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
