01 / Overview

Star River Journey "is a virtual journey through the universe. visitors will explore multiple galaxies from a first person perspective, observing their morphology, structure, and brilliant radiance up close. Starting from the Milky Way, we will encounter a variety of galaxies, including elliptical galaxies that are vast and mysterious, irregular galaxies that are chaotic and beautiful, spiral galaxies that are moving and flowing... Each galaxy has its own unique story and scientific mysteries waiting for us to discover.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Galaxies are massive clusters of stars, and our solar system is located within the Milky Way. Galaxies are divided into elliptical galaxies, spiral galaxies, and irregular galaxies. There are many wonders of the universe both inside and outside the galaxy. From the beginning of our home galaxy, as we travel into the universe, we will experience it one by one. The Milky Way has a diameter of 100000 light-years and is located 25000 light-years from the center of the Milky Way. It is a barred spiral galaxy (a type of spiral galaxy) where the solar system is located, with an elliptical disk shape and a huge disk structure; The Andromeda Galaxy: 2.57 million light-years away, is one of the closest large galaxies to the Milky Way, and is approaching the Milky Way at a speed of about 300 kilometers per second; Straw Hat Galaxy: 28 million light years, named after its central bulge and dust bands at its edges that resemble the Mexican wide brimmed cap; M81 galaxy: 12 million light-years, located in the direction of the northern constellation Ursa Major; M87 galaxy: 56 million light-years, it is an elliptical galaxy.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
