A standard catalogue model: the drawing, control package and finish are fixed, which is what keeps the price and the lead time predictable. Size, colour and interface language can be adapted without a new design cycle.

01 / Overview

By turning the handwheel to control the rotation of the bar magnet, understand the magnetic field lines. The exhibit consists of bar magnets, small magnetic needles, etc. Turning the handwheel to control the rotation of the bar magnet, it was found that the small magnetic needles around the bar magnet also deviated accordingly. There is a magnetic field around the magnet, which cannot be seen or touched. In order to facilitate the description of magnetic fields, Faraday first invented and introduced the concept of "magnetic field lines" in 1837. In daily life, migratory birds flying south and the migration of some animals use the guidance of magnetic field lines to find their "direction". Target audience: Adolescents aged 6-15 years old. Interactive display device operation instructions (audience experience) 1 Turning the handwheel to control the rotation of the bar magnet, it was found that the small magnetic needles around the bar magnet also deviated accordingly; 2. Understand the principle of magnetic field lines. Description of the intrinsic connections between storylines and exhibits in the field of electromagnetic physics, including magnetic field lines.

02 / How visitors use it

Interaction type: Electromechanical interactive. The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Magnetic field lines are some curves that depict the distribution of magnetic fields, and the tangent direction of each point on them is consistent with the direction of the magnetic field at that point, and the magnetic field lines do not intersect with each other. Normally, the direction of a small magnetic needle is in the north-south direction of the Earth, but in the magnetic field of a magnet, the direction pointed by the small magnetic needle becomes the direction of the magnetic field lines due to the magnetic force of the magnet. Therefore, when the magnet rotates, the small magnetic needle will orderly follow the rotation of the magnet. Reference materials.

04 / Public-floor build

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.

Attach a theme outline, a floor plan, or nothing at all — a photo of the space is enough to start. Quotations are issued against real drawings, not per-square-metre guesses.
