The exhibit introduces the ancient Chinese navigation technology by flipping the pages of the book to trigger projections. The South China Sea Route Change Book: The "Route Change Book" refers to a handwritten pamphlet recording navigation knowledge such as navigation routes, reef names, and currents in the South China Sea during fishing, shipping, and other activities that have lasted hundreds of years in the South China Sea Islands. It is the crystallization of the South China Sea fishermen's exploration of the South China Sea with life, sweat, and wisdom. Navigation compass: The compass uses the Earth's magnetic field to navigate ships. The compass used for navigation has a "dial", later known as a "compass", with 24 directions on the dial. Lead hammer: In ancient Chinese navigation, lead hammers were used to measure the depth of water and determine whether it was navigable. Hainan fishermen called lead hammers "water weights". The seabed sand and mud adhered by the lead hammer can distinguish the sea area, guide the navigation route, and determine whether it is suitable for anchoring. Engraving leak: Engraving leak is a type of water timer. The drainage type carved leak is composed of a leaking kettle and a floating arrow. Dripping water from the pot hole causes a decrease in the water level inside the pot, causing the floating arrow to move downwards. The time is measured by reading the scale on the arrow. suffer.
The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.
Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
