01 / Overview

The exhibit introduces the detailed information of cold spring energy resources and the important energy resource value hidden in the cold spring ecosystem through a sliding rail device combined with a screen. In the sliding rail device, an innovative molecular structure model of energy substances commonly found in underwater cold springs has been added, making it easier for children to understand the existence of special energy forms such as gas hydrates using abstract models. 1. Watch science popularization videos. 2. Slide the slide screen to obtain corresponding exhibit information. Deep sea cold springs are the future treasure trove of clean energy. This exhibit mainly showcases the formation mechanism, composition distribution, extraction technology, and application value of oil and gas resources represented by natural gas, gas hydrates (i.e. "combustible ice"), and petroleum in cold springs. In particular, natural gas hydrates (i.e. combustible ice) are an important option for future energy, with their efficient and clean combustion properties and application value. And showcase China's "Haima Cold Spring", an unprecedentedly large active cold spring discovered for the first time in the western waters of the northern continental slope of the South China Sea, particularly.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
