A standard catalogue model: the dimensions, control package and finish are fixed, which is what keeps the price and the lead time predictable. Size, colour and interface language can be adapted without a new design cycle.

The exhibit focuses on the perspective of "what would happen if a rainforest tree had no roots". visitors moves away from the "roots" and watches the lush changes in the leaves of the rainforest tree on the screen, in order to understand the adaptive reasons for the appearance of roots in the rainforest. Move the "board root" and observe the changes in the banyan tree. Plate root "is a special phenomenon in which tall trees adapt to tropical rainforest climate. In tropical rainforests, abundant rainfall brings strong leaching effects, which dissolve and carry away many soluble minerals. The soil is only a thin layer and very barren. Therefore, the roots of most trees grow on the ground surface, which can quickly absorb nutrients from the soil surface. But how do these shallow roots provide support for tall tree trunks? Therefore, "plate root" has evolved, which can well avoid the problem of "unsteadiness" caused by the weight of head and foot due to the wide crown and heavy upper body, and can also resist the attack of heavy storms and rain, and has the function of maintaining water.
The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.
Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
Other models from the Earth & Ecology line, all held to the same specification and the same control package.
