01 / Overview

The exhibit introduces how the "Deep Sea One" model in the wave making water tank simulates how it can withstand different levels of wave impact, and understands the principle of "Deep Sea One" not overturning without column support, allowing visitors to intuitively feel its stability performance. Rotate the knob next to the screen to select the wind level and observe the status of the "Deep Sea One" model in the water tank under different levels of wind. The "Deep Sea One" adopts a combination mooring system of 4 sets of 4 x 4 anchor chains, totaling 16 anchor chains and polyester cables. The polyester cables are very light, weighing only 1/43 of conventional anchor chains, but their strength is not low at all. With these 16 anchor cables, they can even withstand the harsh sea conditions of a Category 16 typhoon.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
