Guess Rainforest Plants

The exhibit "Guess Rainforest Plants" uses a sliding screen to showcase Hainan's characteristic plants such as Polei and Lujun pine. Among them, Polei, as a plant of the Longnao family, is a key evidence that China has a true tropical rainforest; Move the screen position to unlock rainforest plants. Does China have a real tropical rainforest? The international academic community once held a skeptical attitude towards this. It was not until the 1970s that the iconic tree species of tropical rainforests, the Longnaoxiang family, were widely discovered in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, and the status of China's tropical rainforests was finally recognized. There are only two species of Longnaoxiang plants in the pilot zone of Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park system that can help tropical rainforests "verify their true identity", both of which are rare and endangered plants. The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.
