01 / Overview

The exhibit introduction allows visitors to understand through images and text why the Maritime Silk Road, the South China Sea route of the Maritime Silk Road, and the Age of Discovery were jointly created by the East and the West. What is the Maritime Silk Road? The "Maritime Silk Road" refers to the maritime transportation network connecting Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, symbolized by Chinese silk, from the 2nd century BC to the mid-19th century AD. The Maritime Silk Road carries political, economic, and cultural exchanges between the East and the West, passing through seas including the Pacific, Sea of Japan, East China Sea, South China Sea, Indian Ocean, Persian Gulf, Arabian Sea, Red Sea, Mediterranean, and Atlantic. Why is the South China Sea route of the Maritime Silk Road important? The South China Sea guards the maritime transportation from the Pacific Ocean to the Indian Ocean, and is a necessary route for East Asia to reach South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. It is also a crucial location on the Maritime Silk Road. Why was the Age of Discovery jointly created by the East and the West? During the Age of Discovery in the 15th and 16th centuries, the East.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
