01 / Overview

The exhibit introduces visitors to play the roles of different marine creatures in the South China Sea, such as small fish, big fish, sharks, endangered species, etc. At the same time, a fishing net mechanism is set up and fishing net knowledge is conveyed. Players need to avoid the pursuit of fishing nets while "hunting" other fish to maintain their own survival during the experience. By simulating the destruction of the marine food chain caused by overfishing, visitors can experience the importance of overfishing to the ecological balance of the ocean. 1. Select the experience mode and character through the joystick. 2. Read the operating instructions carefully and press the button to confirm the game. 3. Use the joystick to control the character and complete tasks with buttons! Overfishing refers to a situation where a fish population is heavily exploited, resulting in insufficient adult individuals for reproduction and the inability to maintain a healthy population. Overfishing not only threatens marine ecology, but also hinders the healthy and sustainable development of fisheries. Currently, China has formulated many laws and systems to prevent overfishing.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
