01 / Overview

The exhibit introduces the use of real scenery created by hydrothermal fluids to recreate the special environment of underwater hydrothermal fluids. In the "seabed" surrounded by chimneys, a screen is used as a carrier to present the formation process, main distribution, and important value of hydrothermal fluids. Deep sea hydrothermal fluids, the hot flow of underwater cracks, are high-temperature fluids that can reach up to 400 ℃ when seawater is heated by underground magma. Hydrothermal activity is widely distributed in the mid ocean ridges around the world and is an important source of deep-sea resources. Hydrothermal fluids not only contain metal treasures such as copper, zinc, lead, gold, and silver, but also nurture unique deep-sea ecosystems. Deep sea hydrothermal research is of great significance for understanding geological activities on Earth, exploring the origin of life, and developing energy resources.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
