01 / Overview

Community planning has a significant impact on carbon emissions. Reasonable facility distances can reduce residents' travel needs and lower transportation carbon emissions, while overly dispersed or unreasonable layouts may lead to energy waste. Therefore, when planning communities, factors such as facility accessibility, concentration, and land use efficiency should be fully considered to achieve low-carbon and sustainable development goals.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

According to different travel distances, we can choose the corresponding means of transportation and practice low-carbon travel: short distance (within 5 kilometers) travel: the "135" travel mode can be implemented. Choose walking as much as possible within 1 kilometer, cycling as much as possible within 3 kilometers, and taking public transportation as much as possible within 5 kilometers. By adopting walking, cycling, and public transportation methods, we can achieve near zero carbon emissions, exercise our bodies, and be low-carbon and environmentally friendly; Medium distance travel (5 to 50 kilometers): Abandoning gasoline cars and switching to subways, buses, or new energy vehicles can reduce carbon emissions by over 95%; Long distance travel (over 50 kilometers): Abandoning gasoline cars or airplanes and switching to intercity trains, light rails, or trains can reduce carbon emissions by over 90%.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
