01 / Overview

Photosynthesis and respiration are one of the most fundamental metabolic processes in nature, and play an important role in maintaining ecosystem balance. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, algae, and certain bacteria use solar energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into organic matter. This process not only provides energy and nutrients for the plants themselves, but also provides a source of food and oxygen for other organisms. Breathing is an oxidative reaction carried out by organisms within cells, which breaks down organic matter into carbon dioxide and water, and releases energy for life activities.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Breathing is the process by which plants absorb O2 and gradually oxidize and decompose it, converting organic matter into CO2 and water, while also releasing energy. Only living cells can carry out this process, and all organs of living plants can do so, with differences in the release between when oxygen is abundant and when oxygen is lacking. In short, plants carry out respiration mainly to provide energy for living organisms, which can then act on the plant itself for a series of life activities such as cell division, plant growth, and mineral element absorption. During respiration, some intermediate products may be produced, which can serve as raw materials for synthesizing important compounds in the body. Photosynthesis is the process in which green plants use chloroplasts to convert carbon dioxide and water into organic compounds that store energy and release oxygen; Breathing is the process by which organic matter inside cells is broken down into carbon dioxide and water under the action of oxygen, releasing energy. The ability of marine carbon sinks is the same as that of terrestrial plants.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.

Attach a theme outline, a floor plan, or nothing at all — a photo of the space is enough to start. Quotations are issued against a real exhibit list, not per-square-metre guesses.
