01 / Overview

The Cartesian coordinate system is a collective term for the Cartesian coordinate system and the oblique coordinate system. It consists of the X, Y, and Z axes intersecting at the origin in three-dimensional space, and is used to describe the position and motion of objects. In the process of CNC machining, the Cartesian coordinate system is used to determine the position and motion trajectory of the workpiece and tool. By precisely controlling the movement of workpieces and tools in the X, Y, and Z directions, CNC machine tools can achieve high-precision machining operations.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

The Cartesian coordinate system is a mathematical tool used to describe positions in a plane or space. It was invented by mathematician Descartes in the 17th century and has been widely applied in various fields, including industrial manufacturing. In three-dimensional space, the Cartesian coordinate system is extended by adding an axis perpendicular to the x-axis and y-axis (commonly referred to as the z-axis). The three axes intersect at the origin (O), and the coordinates of this point are (0,0,0). The position of any point P in three-dimensional space can be determined by an ordered triplet (x, y, z), where x, y, and z represent the distances from point P to the yOz plane, xOz plane, and xOy plane, respectively. The Cartesian coordinate system is an important tool in industrial manufacturing, widely used in mechanical processing and CNC machine tools. Used for precise description of position and shape, for applications such as positioning, path planning, object detection, and measurement, in CNC machine tools, robotic arm control, automation, and machine vision.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.

Attach a theme outline, a floor plan, or nothing at all — a photo of the space is enough to start. Quotations are issued against a real exhibit list, not per-square-metre guesses.
