01 / Overview

Laser engraving is a technique that uses high-energy laser beams to finely process material surfaces. It has the characteristics of high precision and fast speed, not affected by material elasticity and flexibility, while maintaining the smoothness of the material surface. Laser myopia surgery uses excimer laser or femtosecond laser technology to precisely shape the cornea and correct vision. During the surgical process, these laser techniques are used to finely remove corneal tissue, adjust the curvature of the cornea, so that light can be more accurately focused on the retina, reducing the patient's dependence on glasses or contact lenses. Excimer laser surgery changes the curvature of corneal tissue by precise cutting, while femtosecond laser technology, with its extremely high precision, can perform more precise corneal cutting. For example, in full femtosecond laser surgery (SMILE), femtosecond laser is directly used to create and remove microlenses inside the cornea. The development of these technologies not only improves the safety and effectiveness of surgery, but also makes surgery more efficient.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Laser engraving, based on numerical control technology and using laser as the processing medium, has the characteristics of high precision, fast speed, not affected by the elasticity and flexibility of the material, and can maintain a smooth surface of the material. There are various types of laser myopia surgery, including full femtosecond, half femtosecond, full laser, etc. The use of lasers for strength correction has the characteristics of minimal damage, fast recovery, and excellent results.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
