01 / Overview

Glass is an amorphous silicate material, typically formed by melting raw materials such as quartz sand, soda ash, and limestone at high temperatures and cooling them down. Molten glass can be shaped into various forms, giving rise to various functional products such as flexible glass and tempered glass, and playing important roles in various fields such as architecture, art, and electronics.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

A. Tempered glass/tempered glass belongs to safety glass. Tempered glass is actually a type of prestressed glass. In order to improve the strength of glass, chemical or physical methods are usually used to form compressive stress on the surface of the glass. When the glass is subjected to external forces, the surface stress is first counteracted, thereby improving the load-bearing capacity and enhancing the glass's own resistance to wind pressure, heat and cold, impact, etc. Please distinguish it from fiberglass. b. 30 micron flexible foldable glass - the softest glass. This glass was first developed by Peng Shou and his team in China, with a thickness of only 0.03 millimeters, making it currently the thinnest industrialized foldable glass. It has excellent flexibility and durability, and can withstand day and night bending tests without a single crack after folding 1 million times, demonstrating its outstanding durability and reliability. This ultra-thin flexible foldable glass.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
