A standard catalogue model: the dimensions, control package and finish are fixed, which is what keeps the price and the lead time predictable. Size, colour and interface language can be adapted without a new design cycle.

01 / Overview

The exhibit uses electromechanical interaction to activate the operation of the ball and form interaction with multimedia videos, allowing visitors to understand how the package is delivered to the consumer after one click ordering, what steps are involved and the technical challenges faced in the process.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

The entire lifecycle of a package, from placing an order to delivery, mainly includes packaging, transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Packaging: The packaging of goods is usually done using materials such as tape, packaging boxes/envelopes, packaging bags, etc. With the promotion of green logistics, some merchants and logistics companies have begun to use environmentally friendly materials such as biodegradable plastic bags and tape free cardboard boxes. Transportation: The package is transported by a transport vehicle from the warehouse to the consolidation center. Storage: Packages are sorted at the consolidation center and loaded onto airplanes or trains for transportation to their destination. Delivery: After the package arrives at the destination, the delivery vehicle will deliver the package to the local courier station or collection point (such as Cainiao Station), and the courier at the end station will deliver it to the doorstep, or the consumer can go to the collection point to pick it up.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
