01 / Overview

The diversity of genes creates the diversity of organisms. According to research data released by the United Nations Environment Programme, there are currently approximately 8.7 million species of organisms living on Earth. In the long time since its birth, life exists in an extremely simple form, accompanied by genetic variation and natural selection, more and more complex new species continue to emerge. They have adapted to different environments, built complex ecosystems, and together created our planet with biodiversity.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Genetic diversity is the foundation of biodiversity. There are approximately 8.7 million species of organisms on Earth, which originated from simple life forms and gradually evolved into complex and diverse species through genetic variation and natural selection, adapting to different environments and constructing complex ecosystems. This process embodies the core scientific principles of life evolution: genetic variation provides diversity, natural selection shapes adaptability, and together promote the formation and development of biodiversity.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
