01 / Overview

Human organs produce various sounds during normal physiological activities, such as heartbeat, pulse, bowel sounds, and lung sounds, which reflect the working status of the organs. Monitoring body sounds can help detect, diagnose, and treat diseases.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Sound signals from four parts of the human body: 1 Carotid artery: Normal blood flow is stable. If you hear a "whoosh" sound, it may indicate arteriosclerosis causing narrowing of blood vessels, which is an important warning of cerebral infarction and needs to be detected early through a stethoscope. two Heart: The heartbeat is like a drum, changing rhythm with movement and emotions. If the rhythm is disrupted (arrhythmia) or abnormal murmurs appear, it may indicate a heart disease. three Lungs: During normal breathing, the inhalation tone is high and the exhalation tone is low. If you hear water sounds like this, be alert to pulmonary edema or heart disease. 4. Abdominal: Gastrointestinal peristalsis produces intestinal sounds. When hungry or experiencing diarrhea, the sound increases; When there is intestinal obstruction, a metallic high pitched sound will be emitted; If there is complete silence, it may indicate gastrointestinal paralysis or acute peritonitis. Postoperative recovery of bowel sounds is a sign of normal gastrointestinal function.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
