A standard catalogue model: the dimensions, control package and finish are fixed, which is what keeps the price and the lead time predictable. Size, colour and interface language can be adapted without a new design cycle.

In nature, different animals have different visual abilities due to their different living environments and lifestyles. These special visual functions enable animals to better adapt to their respective ecological environments, improve foraging efficiency, quickly avoid danger, and effectively communicate.
The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.
Organisms need to process light through their eyes in order to perceive visual scenes of external objects. We humans have a tricolor vision, which means that three types of light receptors can be presented in the human eye, namely the red, green, and blue perceived by the cone. There is another type of light receptor called rod cells, which can sense small amounts of light, allowing us to see faint light sources even at night. The way animals process light with their eyes is different from ours. Some animals can only perceive two types of light receptors, which can make them color blind. Some animals can perceive four or even more types, which are ultraviolet light, infrared light, etc. that we cannot see. There are also some peculiar animals that can detect polarized light.
Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
