A standard catalogue model: the dimensions, control package and finish are fixed, which is what keeps the price and the lead time predictable. Size, colour and interface language can be adapted without a new design cycle.

Listening to sound and identifying position, that is, determining the direction and distance of the sound source by the time difference and intensity difference of the sound received by both ears. The brain processes this information to accurately locate the sound source. Listening to sound and identifying location not only helps us perceive our surroundings, but also enables us to quickly respond in complex environments.
The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.
Binaural effect: Only when a person listens with both ears can their ability to locate sound be improved, because only one ear can determine attributes such as loudness, timbre, and pitch in addition to direction, but cannot specifically determine the direction and accurate position of the sound source. When two ears are used together, the distance, time, and intensity of the sound waves emitted by the sound source that propagate to the two ears differ in order to accurately locate the sound source.
Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
