Zebrafish is an important model organism in biomedical and human genetic research. By observing the development process of zebrafish, scientists can delve into the basic laws of life, simulate disease characteristics, and conduct drug testing and regenerative medicine research. Zebrafish have many characteristics such as strong reproductive ability, in vitro fertilization and development, transparent embryos, short sexual maturity cycle, and small individual size that is easy to cultivate, especially for large-scale positive gene saturation mutation and screening. These characteristics make it one of the important model vertebrates in life science research in the era of functional genomics. The incubation process of zebrafish eggs is displayed on the microscope dial, with times of 0.2H and 48H representing the incubation time of the eggs. The starting point is the fertilization time of the eggs, not the time they leave the mother's body.
The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.
The natural lifespan of zebrafish is about 3 years, and they can mate and lay eggs throughout the year, with a spawning cycle of 5-7 days. A pair of healthy adult zebrafish can lay more than 200 eggs in one mating. It is worth mentioning that the embryo body is completely transparent and develops quickly, which not only facilitates the observation of the entire process of embryo development, but also facilitates experimentation. Zebrafish are diploid animals with 25 pairs of chromosomes, both male and female, reproduce sexually, and have no confirmed sex chromosomes. In scientific applications, scientists use zebrafish as a supplement for mammals. Significant scientific achievements have been made in the fields of developmental biology, genomics, molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, immunology, neurobiology, oncology, disease mechanisms, pharmacology, and more. Zebrafish is the third largest experimental animal after mammals such as rats and mice, and is currently the only vertebrate suitable for high-throughput drug screening.
Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
