On average, a person has around 120000 strands of hair, with a hair growth rate of approximately 0.27-0.4 millimeters per day. Therefore, the total daily growth length of a person's hair can reach 32.4-48 meters.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

The length of hair is determined by the growth cycle of hair and each person's genes. Generally speaking, the growth cycle of hair is 2-7 years, and everyone's hair growth rate varies, so the maximum length of hair that can grow varies from person to person. We have about 120000 hairs, and based on a growth rate of 0.27-0.4 millimeters per day, the total growth length of all hairs combined can reach 32.4-48 meters per day.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
