01 / Overview

5G is the fifth generation mobile communication technology, characterized by high speed, low latency, and large connectivity, supporting applications such as the Internet of Things, autonomous driving, and remote healthcare. From the absence of 1G, introduction of 2G, catching up with and participating in standard setting for 3G, to independent research and extensive application of 4G, China has achieved technological leadership and global leadership in the 5G era, demonstrating inspiring development from the beginning to surpassing, and setting a new benchmark for the global communication industry.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

1G blank: In the early 1980s, when the United States and Europe began deploying their first generation mobile communication networks, China was still in its infancy and relied heavily on imported technology and equipment. China hardly participated in the formulation of any international standards during this period, nor did it independently develop related products. 2G Follow: In the early 1990s, with the emergence of second-generation mobile communication (2G) technology, China began to introduce foreign technology and began building its own 2G network in 1994. During this period, China still mainly adopted mature international technology standards such as GSM and CDMA, but at the same time, it was also exploring whether to develop its own standards. 3G Participation: In the early 21st century, China actively participated in the research and development of third-generation mobile communication (3G) technology and proposed its own 3G standard - TD-SCDMA - in 2000. Despite facing numerous challenges and technological shortcomings in the initial stage.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.

Attach a theme outline, a floor plan, or nothing at all — a photo of the space is enough to start. Quotations are issued against a real exhibit list, not per-square-metre guesses.
