01 / Overview

From a chemical perspective, elements are a general term for a class of atoms with the same number of nuclear charges (i.e. protons), and conventional substances are composed of these elements. The periodic table of elements is arranged in ascending order of atomic number (i.e. proton number) and includes 118 officially confirmed elements by humans to date. In the field of new material research and development, the periodic table of elements is not only the cornerstone for understanding material structure and properties, but also an important guide for guiding material design. This exhibit aims to reveal a core scientific principle: the diverse forms of materials in nature and laboratories, regardless of their macroscopic properties, are essentially composed of a limited number of elements arranged through different chemical bonds and microstructures.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

1、 This exhibit twelve cutting-edge new material systems, covering the core research directions of contemporary material genomics. The classification is clear and standardized as follows: 1 Electronic and Photon Materials 2 Related Materials - High Temperature Superconductor 3 Related materials - topological insulator material 4 Biomaterials - Biomimetic Materials 5 Biomaterials - Biorenewable Active Materials 6 Catalyst Material 7 Energy materials 8 Polymer material 9 Resin composite material 10 Related Materials - Magnetic Materials 11 Organic Electronic Materials 12 High entropy functional materials II. Corresponding main materials and core components of various materials 1 Electronic and Photonic Materials: Gallium Oxide (Ga ₂ O3), Graphene/Molybdenum Oxide Van der Waals Heterojunction (C/MoO3), Graphene based Superhydrophobic Materials (C) 2. Related Materials - High Temperature Superconductors: Bismuth Strontium Calcium Copper Oxide (BSCCO) Copper.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
