01 / Overview

Steel "is a general term for steel and iron. Iron is the 26th element in the periodic table and the second most abundant metal element in the Earth's crust. Its elemental color is silver white, but it usually exists in the form of compounds in nature. Steel "is a metallic material primarily composed of iron, with a carbon content generally below 2.0%, and containing other elements. Steel products are widely used in various fields such as construction, machinery, and transportation. The exhibit "Steel Universe" explores the diverse world of steel through three main theme columns: "Is stainless steel also steel?", "Steel with 'endurance'", and "Special Steel", combined with interactive Q&A.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

(1) 12 types of steel display: stainless steel fiber textiles, mirror polished stainless steel, high nitrogen stainless steel, ball flat steel, weather resistant steel, high heat resistant alloy steel brake discs, high-end rare earth bearing steel, martensitic heat-resistant steel, hand torn steel, special sealing ribbon materials, galvanized steel wire stay cables, and oriented silicon steel. (2) Theme allocation for each pillar: Is stainless steel also steel? Content: Cut resistant gloves, mirror polished stainless steel, high nitrogen stainless steel. Main pillar theme: Steel with "endurance". Content: Ball flat steel, weather resistant steel, high heat resistant alloy steel brake discs, high-end rare earth bearing steel, martensitic heat-resistant steel. Central pillar theme: special steel. Content: Hand torn steel, special sealing ribbon material, galvanized steel wire stay cable, oriented silicon steel.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
