01 / Overview

The underground logistics system refers to a new concept of transportation and supply system that uses automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) or dual-purpose trucks (DMTs) and other carrying tools to transport solid goods through large-diameter underground pipelines, tunnels, and other transportation pathways. In short, it is to construct a relatively complete logistics and transportation system underground, which is interconnected with storage and logistics centers, community distribution centers, and other hubs.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

The widely recognized construction of underground logistics systems is based on the concept of distinguishing between intra city and inter city transportation. Goods outside the city are transported by railway, highway, waterway, and air to the logistics park (CLP) at the edge of the city. After processing, CLP distributes them to various terminals through the underground logistics system, including supermarkets, factories, and transfer stations, from the city to the city.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
