01 / Overview

When the blade rotates at a constant speed, the circumferential velocity at each point on the blade varies due to the different distances from the axis. Bending the blades into an S-shape can balance the overall circumferential velocity of the blades, making their operation more stable; Reduce the flow loss of airflow and improve the efficiency of the engine; The average temperature, pressure, etc. experienced by the fan blades extend their service life.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Bending the blades into an S-shape can balance the overall circumferential velocity of the blades, making their operation more stable. Furthermore, when air blows from the front, the geometric direction of the inlet of the S-shaped blade can be aligned with the direction of the relative incoming flow, thereby reducing the flow loss of the airflow. As more air enters, the efficiency of the engine naturally improves. Finally, the curved S-shape can also maximize the average temperature, pressure, etc. experienced by the fan blades, thereby extending the service life of the blades. In addition, the materials used to make the blades contain expensive high-temperature alloy elements, with complex structures and high requirements for precision and surface quality. There are many varieties and quantities available. This determines that the development direction of blade processing production is to organize specialized production, adopt advanced blank manufacturing processes with minimal and no cutting, in order to improve product quality and save high-temperature resistant materials; Adopting efficient automated and semi automated machine tools, organizing automated production lines for flow production, gradually adopting CNC and computer technology for processing.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
