01 / Overview

From the single plank bridge to the steel bridge, the development of bridges has gone through a long historical evolution, and their functions are well known to everyone. But do you know how bridges are built? Here, you can learn about bridge structures, personally build bridge models, and even use experimental equipment to observe the stress situation of bridges, in order to try to build the strongest bridge with the least amount of materials!

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

A bridge refers to a building constructed to allow a road to cross natural or man-made obstacles. The development of bridges has gone through a long historical evolution process, from simple single plank bridges to today's steel bridges, from the utilization of natural bridges to artificial bridge construction. Modern bridges consist of two parts: the upper structure and the lower structure. The upper structure includes the bridge body and deck, while the lower structure includes bridge piers, abutments, and foundations. When building bridges, the issue of stress is always considered. Factors such as where the pressure is high and needs to be strengthened, whether the bridge shape is reasonable, and whether it can meet the design load standard are all factors that need to be considered in the early design process. A person is walking on a bridge with a heavy-duty truck parked on the bridge. The weight borne by the bridge increases, but we cannot observe which parts of the bridge are under greater pressure or which parts are more relaxed based solely on our eyes or rulers. If the stress situation at various positions inside the bridge can be visually observed, the bridge structure can therefore.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.

Attach a theme outline, a floor plan, or nothing at all — a photo of the space is enough to start. Quotations are issued against a real exhibit list, not per-square-metre guesses.
