01 / Overview

This exhibit presents the unique properties and mathematical charm of the M ö bius strip through physical display and dynamic interaction, inspiring visitors' curiosity and exploration of topology and mathematical principles. The core of the exhibit is the materialized topology structure of the M ö bius strip, coupled with a mechanical ladybug device. The mechanical ladybugs on the surface of the M ö bius strip will crawl along a single-sided track and shuttle in the "infinite loop" of the M ö bius strip. one Before arriving at the exhibit, observe the physical M ö bius strip structure and mechanical ladybug device of the exhibit Focus on the crawling trajectory of the mechanical ladybug and observe its dynamic process of shuttling along the M ö bius belt orbit Experience the characteristics of mechanical ladybugs crawling in an "infinite loop" and appreciate the unique property of the M ö bius strip having only one surface. The principle of infinite loop crawling: The trajectory of the mechanical ladybug in the exhibit is designed to fit the single-sided curved surface of the M ö bius strip. Since there is no boundary between the front and back of the M ö bius strip, ladybugs can crawl along the trajectory without crossing any boundaries.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
