01 / Overview

Reverse thinking "is a way of thinking that involves thinking about commonplace and seemingly established things or viewpoints in reverse, and therefore plays a key role in the development of science. Here, five sets of experimental setups are presented, including St é r's Electromagnetism, Faraday's Magnetoelectricity, and the invention of the Volt Battery. Do you want to know how famous scientists use reverse thinking to raise questions, design experiments, discover phenomena, and draw conclusions? Come and experience 'reverse thinking'!

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

Reverse thinking ", also known as" divergent thinking ", is a way of thinking that involves reversing common and seemingly established ideas or perspectives. This way of thinking dares to 'go against the grain', starting from the opposite side of the problem and conducting in-depth exploration, often resulting in completely new results. Firstly, reverse thinking is critical. This way of thinking is often a rebellion and challenge to conventional, common sense, recognized, or habitual ideas and practices, enabling thinking to overcome fixed thinking patterns and break through rigid cognitive patterns caused by experience and habits. Secondly, reverse thinking has novelty. Everything has multiple attributes. However, due to the influence of past experience, people always use conventional thinking and traditional methods to solve problems, while reverse thinking overcomes this obstacle and often surprises people, giving them a refreshing feeling. In the history of science, there have been many inventions.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
