01 / Overview

In the Lingnan region of the Neolithic period, the ancestors entered a new stage of settlement and lived in wooden and mud houses made of a mixture of wood, thatch, and soil. During this period, people not only mastered the technique of grinding stone tools, but also learned how to weave clothes to cover their shame and keep warm, make pottery for storing grain, storing water, and cooking food. In addition, people began to experiment with planting crops and domesticating animals, marking the initial germination of agricultural civilization. This not only demonstrated the further adaptation of humans to the natural environment, but also reflected the development of productivity and social progress.

02 / How visitors use it

The unit is designed for unsupervised public use: controls are recessed or shielded, moving parts are enclosed, and the interface is operable by a child of about six with no instruction. Where a screen is used, the language can be switched without changing the hardware, and the content can be replaced on site.

03 / The science behind it

From tens of thousands of years ago when Homo sapiens established civilization, to today in the 21st century, humans have developed their living spaces from rudimentary caves to super homes with water, electricity, and WiFi. The standard of living has undergone earth shaking changes, and the way of home life has also undergone tremendous changes. Every era is engraved with its own era imprint.

04 / Built for a public floor

Every unit leaves the factory after a running test: mechanisms cycled, electronics burned in, edges dressed, fixings torqued and marked. Wear parts — bearings, sliders, lamps, belts, touch panels — are modular and listed on the spare-part sheet, so a venue technician can replace them without returning the exhibit. Crating is plywood with foam blocking; the loading plan and packing list travel with the shipment.
